Cat won’t stop peeing on the carpets what do I do?

So I’ve had this cat for approximately 14 years, and in those 14 years she has been known to shit and piss in the house. I got her when I was 17, I’m 31 now.

A little back story to her is that she never had an issue at my parents house until an additional 2 cats were introduced to the house, then it started. For years she would do this and it never really became a thing since my parents house never smelt the best in the first place you didn’t know if it was cat piss or a piece of meat from 2 nights prior.

Fast forward a bit and me and my family move into an apartment and we adopt a litter box method for her and it’s golden pastures, that is until we find a little 7 month old kitten practically left for dead on the street and we took her home. At the apartment I’m not sure if she was pissing in places that I just never noticed since we left soon after and to her credit, she will always shit in the litter box, but now we have moved to a brand new home and this is where things have become more of an issue.

After moving into our home, we have 2 cat boxes upstairs, and 2 downstairs. One day my wife mentions to me just how awful the bathroom is smelling of cat odor, and low and behold, I find my 14 year old cat pissing on the floor towel of the guest bathroom with the litter box not even a foot away from her sparkling clean. Needless to say we no longer have floor mats in that bathroom. Fast forward to today and she is pissing right outside the litter box, pissing on my area rugs whether that be in my garage or my guest room, but who the **** does this cat think she is as if she’s been mistreated in any way. She’s allowed outside and she never jumps the fence (while at this point I wish she would and to never return.) she seems overall happy but just seems pissed when it’s not JUST her in the house for whatever reason (pet wise).

Anyways I’m wondering what my options are here and what others have done in similar situations. I’m planning a vet appointment for Friday, and I’m hoping they say this little bitch has a terminal illness or something that is making her act this way so I can request she be put down. Think I’m just over this cat.

Well you might as well start peeing on the carpets too. It probably smells so horrible already anyway that you wont be adding to the stink anymore, but it will be significantly more convenient for you

Vets don't know shit about cats because no one puts money into them so I wouldn't expect some expert diagnosis

Its clearly stress from the move(s), the other cat, and whatever else

I've got a cat who licks wounds in himself due to stress (I've moved him to 3 different states). Multiple vets don't know shit so one finally prescribed him gabapentin which works great. Problem was he needs it everyday and its like $75/mo

Fortunately I'm 4 hours from Mexico and its a couple bucks there so I load up while picking up other...um...tacos, yeah picking up other tacos. Anyway now lil bro just lays around enjoying the high life soaking up free massages all day

Once the poop and pee on the floor starts though and he's a goner

Sure, if that's the situation, it is what it is. It's also possible that this is caused by a UTI that could be taken care of with a week's worth of meds. One of our old cats was peeing on our bed for a week or two back when he was 8. After taking care of the UTI, he lived until he was 17.

Depends on the area I guess. There are plenty of good vets for cats around here.

I know there are and I was intentionally overstating

I've been to many vets in different areas and I'm typically the only one there with a cat and get things like "yay we never get cats in here" comments from staff

We've changed his food a million times on recommendations, heart echoes, ultrasounds, recommendation for a 5k surgery that may or may not work by a renowned cat specialist vet who is only in PHX from LA for 4 weeks out of the year so "schedule now"

They just don't know and yeah its anecdotal but run of the mill vets are seeing way more dogs than cats so its just logical that they'll have more experience in one vs the other

Take them to the vet and if suffering the vet will end it as humane as possible.

Or shoot them and throw them in the river like a psycho.

My dog threw up grass on my couch a little bit ago.

I took him outside and staked him in place so he couldn't move. Then I backed my truck over his rear half to cripple him. Threw him in the back of the truck and drove down to the creek. Held him underwater until he didn't thrash anymore.

Last time that little sucker pulls that shit!!

The joke here is that guy is an attorney. And those people don't have souls or they wouldn't be attorneys in the first place.

Just imagine somebody shooting a lawyer and throwing their body in the river and the story is much happier.
