Then this happens. It seems like a real blindsided them kinda thing cause they defense has been really built around him.
Jones did that shit on purpose, he let FA and the draft go by and then pulled this, he did it to try to leverage the Chiefs into doing what he wanted by presenting it at the shittiest time for the team.

It really seems that way.

Which is why I can't imagine them playing nice when it comes to game checks and such.

Pretty clear this was the case. We got a guy who has a lot of potential for a 6th rounder, and you can rest assured this wasn't done on a whim. Veach keeps his eyes on these types of players as you mentioned. I'm sure the Raiders had no clue whatsoever how to use him and the coaches see a role for him here.

Won't be the least bit shocked to see him contribute.

Had Jones pulled it earlier it could have been handled differently where he was traded or the Chiefs put a higher stake on getting a guy like Keanu Benton.

It was on a tactful move on Jones part, he doesn't really want to play for another team but he also wants Donald money so he tried to back the Chiefs into a corner.

I'm in the minority, but I don't even dislike the Raiders anymore. Your fans seem way more rational and level-headed than Denver's.

I'm not so sure, their interest in trading up for Mazi Smith to the point where they were willing to deal a 3rd rounder would lead me to believe they knew what Jones was looking for.

Either way, he's still a dick.

It is hard to dislike a team that has posed a threat only once in the last 20 years (2016).

I suppose that could be, but the timing of all this is most definitely suspicious

I mostly just hate Bufffalo, Cincinnati and of course New England because Bill Belichick is there and Boston should get nuked.

I'm pretty ambivalent as to the Raiders and Broncos.

I'm thinking they maybe had somewhat of an idea what he was looking for and thought they could talk him down, and Smith was a backup plan. When they whiffed on him (which I'm sure Jones' agent caught wind of) it probably fueled the fire a little bit.

Will be interesting to hear how the whole thing played out after the fact. You know we'll hear about it just like we did with Hill. Jones strikes me as the type who's going to seriously run his mouth after he's gone.

Instead you just clog the shit out of the middle, tell them to shove their asses off, use 2 to occupy 3 and give yourselves a numbers advantage.

You may see some twists/curls with LBs off the edge, but in this scenario, I can't imagine you'll be seeing many interior stunts, etc...

Without Jones, you don't try to do the same thing with a guy who ISN'T Jones. You just do a new thing. That new thing may just be 3 NTs and a guy like Wharton or Dana who can sub in as a NASCAR DT and then you just hope your edge rushers are developing.

Man, they're asking a LOT from FAU at the moment. And they sure seem to be leaning into Karlaftis as a 10 sack guy.
You mean you don't employ Pellom McDaniels as the Falcon?

I honestly think having 3 fat nt that rotate and DEs that can play inside in third downs is the way to go moving forward. It’ll take up more roster room but it’ll save money vs a chris jones type move. And also allow more fresh legs.

The question will be if veach can scout them out. He hasn’t been amazing thus far at scouting this position group.
