Are there usually updates on who’s interviewed and who is scheduled to interview other than just head coaches?

Andy is a smart dude. I’d like to think that he could interview a handful of guys and find the best fit for what they need.
Whoever it is needs to be able to run the defense themselves. Almost like a 2nd HC. |

Venables would be a homerun hire IMO, but reid won’t take the risk of hiring someone with no nfl experience. I think it has to be a former DC or HC. Or a former player who’s now a position coach.

It is interesting though you can't click on Emmitt Thomas picture and go to his bio. Maybe that is a hint. |

Thomas retired as well. At least I’m pretty sure I saw that he did.

Agreed. I think like others mentioned the direction he will go will be someone who's either been a HC or DC at this level before. Wonder if Marvin Lewis would be interested.

I have looked and don't see anything regarding Thomas retiring or anything. Who knows I just thought it was interesting. Could be just a mistake on their page. |

I think someone mentioned Ray Horton...
Report: Washington offers Ray Horton spot on defensive staff Posted by Darin Gantt on January 24, 2019, 3:39 PM EST AP Washington is apparently keeping defensive coordinator Greg Manusky — despite making him interview potential additions to the staff — and now they’ve added another former coordinator to the staff. According to Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan, Ray Horton has been offered the defensive backs coach job, and he may end up being called defensive passing game coordinator. Horton had six years as a defensive coordinator in Arizona, Tennessee, and Cleveland from 2011-17, but was out of the league last year. The 58-year-old Horton was an assistant defensive backs coach from Washington from 1994-96, and has also worked in Cincinnati, Detroit, and Pittsburgh. |
