Been watching a lot of old Law & Order reruns lately. I'm so goddamn bored I was thinking of doing a poll about who the hottest ADA was over the years. Although I don't see how any of the rest could beat Angie Harmon. |

Any fans of "Once More Unto the Breech"?
For me it's a top 5 DS9 episode, but I don't think it's highly regarded. |

DS9 completely destroys babylon 5. And I say that as a long time fan of b5.
Farscape was and is an amazing series. BSG (the 2000s one....) was fantastic through 3 seasons and fell apart all through season 4 (not just the finale). But when it was at its peak it was better than any Star Trek series, and it's not particularly close The Expanse may pass them all by the end. It hasn't had what I would consider a weak season yet. |

Anybody else like Stargate? Both SG-1 and Atlantis? No, neither are the best sci-fi series, but I still enjoy them a lot. Anybody else like them?

^ I like the movie version of Stargate but I've only seen a handful of the earliest tv episodes when it was new. I wasn't impressed at the time but I've always meant to go back and give it another shot. Same story with B5.
I'm very leery of serialized shows, so I waited until BG was over to see what people thought of the ending. Since it seems to be almost universally disliked, I've never bothered with it. I watched three Trek episodes last night. The first one was the original pilot "The Cage." I'm a big fan of this one. It has that old school sci-fi feel to it like Forbidden Planet or The Time Machine. With a slightly bigger budget it could have been released theatrically, imo. Next up was "A Taste of Armageddon." Good episode. I like Kirk's speech at the end but I think Shatner delivered the lines poorly. And I finished out the night with TNG's "Conspiracy" 'nuff said Last edited by Mennonite; 02-23-2021 at 12:56 PM.. |

Conspiracy is pretty damn good.
I was shocked when the dude's head exploded. That's pretty graphic for any movie, much less a weekly TV show. Last edited by notorious; 02-22-2021 at 02:59 PM.. |

Absolutely. Trek never did anything like it before or since. Truthfully, I wouldn't have minded if Trek dipped into horror more often; space is a scary place.

The SG1 cast really did a fantastic job. Stargate the movie was good, but what it spawned was so much better. I felt both Atlantis and Universe never really tapped their potential, and Universe was like Eneterprise in that both shows ended too soon (brought it around full circle, high five). |

I agree on DS9 and BSG. Also thought SG1 and Atlantis were both pretty good scifi. Never missed an episode. |

Still excellent, but a lot of what they did was ground-breaking back then, not so much now. |
