Once Sky Moore and Toney , Veaches ideas for number 1 WR were removed and Kelce returned to God mode the offense became functional.

The QB and defense bailed out his bad decisions there.
We had a rookie WR emerge and almost hit 1K yards. MVS is arguably a mistake but was awesome in the playoffs both years he was here. He’s been taking a low cost approach and it’s actually worked out great.

I wish that was true. The amount of crazy has been pretty amazing for fans of a team that has won back-to-back SB's.

Rice was a great pick.

But even with the emergence of Rice and Kelce playing like a HOF TE, the offense went 16 straight drives in the playoffs without scoring a TD.

That’s poor with Mahomes and Andy Reid.

Eh, not really. The WRs led the league in drop percentage all year and singlehandedly lost them at least two regular season games by themselves. The offense also never really got rolling in the playoffs either.

The offense absolutely fisted Buffalo and moved it at will against Miami. The **** you talking about?

No, 3 day 2 picks in 2 years still completely disproves your narrative.

I'm just trying to also provide some common sense "crediting them for draft picks they haven't made yet". Are you seriously questioning whether they spend a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd on a WR this year? It's a forgone conclusion if I've ever seen one.

Yes but we were able to go 16 straight drives without a TD against elite defenses and keep winning because of the awesome defense we have. The Chiefs are spending all their money to build a team. Right now WR seems to be a real market inefficiency in terms of how much it costs to pay the elite ones. So while other teams are paying them we chose to zig while they zagged.

Again, we need to upgrade, especially with Kelce's age. But in no way do I look at this situation and think Veach "horribly mismanaged" anything.

It wasn't the 2018 offense, but it was good in the playoffs.

I don't know.

You remove Diggs from Buffalo, or Chase from Cinci, or Zay Flowers from Baltimore and none of them are doing shit.

But even if I buy your premise (I don't), why not get value guys that can play cheap?

We didn't do that either.

We got cheap but not good.

Right, and Miami/Buffalo were missing a combined like 10 defensive starters.

Looks like another day of nothing. Whatever, signing Jones and Tranquill made FA an automatic A none the less. Signing a splash WR like Hollywood would have made it A+.
