Everyone passed but a team that Peters liked and was out of conference for the Chiefs?

Convenient for such a desperate situation.

Peters' value is also tied to his contract length or, in his case, one more season with an option for one more. Teams will assess the chances of extending him, the likely amount of that 2d contract amount along with the current sum of his remaining rook contract which impacts his trade value just as it does with all these MLB teams do when they go shopping in the trade market.

All this is taken into account before the character issues of the player are factored in. Given these considerations, I'd say the Chiefs got a fairly (not GREAT) but fairly good return for dumping a guy who has now been fired from his college and pro teams. Good luck with that LAR. Good riddance to Peters BTW.

I don't blame Peters, it's a lot easier to slip over on saturday morning and choke your mom if you're in the same state than to have to take a plane.

the teams that passed did what he does when he passes a tackle opportunity....avoided the contact with potential problems and made a 'business decision' do avoid contact.

I'd like you to give me the list of great tackling CB's the vast majority of them don't do it. Peters just isn't very good at making it look good like some of the other guys but yea most CB's are shitty tacklers and try to avoid it.

Prove it. I would be willing to bet whatever you want that you couldnt find more than a couple of these instances, if any.

Getting into it with fans on the sideline, fighting with coaches on the team bus, pushing your mom in the locker etc...

Those are "off the field issues".

thats odd , i would think they would only tell 2 or 3 to minimize the number of teams who knew he was on the market and to ensure we got jack shit for him

Spoiler!

Honestly, without knowing the truth, I can easily believe this. The NFL is no different than any other large corporation. Once the word gets out on someone, no matter how "talented" he may or may not be - that person is black-balled (so to speak). It's not hard to believe that most teams were questioned about the prospect of a "trade" and most passed outright, knowing the baggage that this player carries with him.

I truly believe that Peters will be on his best behavior - year one. The jury is out, however, on the years after that. Time will tell.
