What in the **** are the Lions doing?

I know they are 3-1

But why in the world did you spend a top 15 pick on a RB if you were just gonna give David Montgomery 35 carries?

It’s objectively hilarious to me that they let a 22 year old, clearly talented RB go for a fourth rounder. But spent the 12th overall pick on another shifty RB. All to just give Montgomery 35 carries a game lol. I just think their approach to the RB position is super duper bizarre.

Bijan and Gibbs being eased in slowly because these newbies just like Pacheco last year need time to learn where the blitz is coming from.

Gibbs is young & still learning how to run in the NFL. He's getting his touches and he'll get more and more as he gains experience, but at this point Montgomery is the better inside runner Gibbs has a tendency to hit the hole too upright. No need to wear a guy out in 3 games when you're gonna have him for the next 5 years.

Same goes for Atlanta with Bijan - although that guy is a finished product & looks like the best back I've seen in 10+ years - But no need to wear him out in 3 games. It's a long ass season.

Also, wtf does everyone want to say the lions are the top team in the NFL? Are they just desperate for it to finally be someone other than the Chiefs?

Yep.

We were supposed to win LIV (feel good story, 50 year bit) and then quietly go away, sort of like the Colts a decade earlier. They don't want small market dynasties. They want big market dynasties.

But I guess Brett, Andy and Pat didn't get the memo.

I'm guessing you meant LIV, not XIV.

Jahmyr Gibbs is probably the only RB I can come up with that was worth a first round pick. I'd take him over McCaffrey in the first round. He's on pace for 1435 rush TDs - 15 rush TDs - 374 rec yds - 3 rec TDs. He's averaging 6.4 ypc and is the best RB since Jamaal Charles. The guy is just a force.

It is ludicrous to think someone should be arrested solely for having a gun in their vehicle.

That 6.4 YPC is eerily similar to Jamaal’s production in 2010. David Montgomery is also his version of Thomas Jones.

Oh Yeesh, I just read the story after my initial reaction and you may be right. It sounds like he properly revealed he had firearms in the car to keep himself and the cops out of danger. If so that’s a ridiculous reason to arrest him. Guy has a right to carry and therefore to also unarm.

But who knows. Maybe the body cam footage will show something different.
