What Songs or Movies Make You Cry?

I’m a bit of a softy, especially with music and certain films/scenes from films.

And it’s a bit all over the place.

Since my dad died, I can’t listen to My Father’s House by Springsteen, and I’ve never been a big Bruce fan. But I listen to that now, and I’m crushed.

Certain operas/arias bring me to tears.

Transatlanticism by Death Cab is always rough, even if I’m in a great mood. I’ll end up drifting back into some former relationship and it’ll get me misty eyed.

Too many songs bring tears to my eyes for reasons of joy, sadness, yearning, etc…

Here’s a weird one. Superman The Movie. Christopher Reeve. When he grabs Lois and that helicopter(pilots inside) from falling from the roof, I snort cry. I just wish sometimes there was this “miracle man” who could do stuff like that and give us all something to believe in and be so thankful it exists.

Private Ryan, Schindler’s List, Sling Blade…. All crushers…

Man, there's two parts that just kill me... when Karl puts his arm around Frank as they sit in the woods... "I think I kinda want to put my arm around you, then I'm agonna get up outta here and leave. I love you boy."

Then when Karl visits Vaughan at his doorstep... "That boy, he lives inside of his own heart, and that's an awful big place to live in. You take good care of that boy."

Shit man, I'm tearing up just typing it...

I'm so weird... I won't cry to any music, and not very many movies... (Old yeller comes to mind)... but I will tear up to like Barry Sanders highlight videos... or Mahomes highlight videos. usually sports starts doing amazing things gets me...

We had a good cry together because the events of the film hit a lot of the same notes in our lives especially the scenes involved around trying to have a kid.

Man, this movie has been on my list for a long time and you’re like the 73rd person who has told me it evoked tears. I’m gonna give it a go and am prepared for the same feeling I get watching Mahomes scramble in the fourth quarter untouched in the SB.

When I think of movies that don't get enough credit, that one tops my list

Its two hours of continuous genius, just one amazing scene after another and each one is by turns a mix of comedy and incredibly deep heartfelt drama... the dialogue is as real as it gets, and the acting across the board is off the charts

Who knew Dwight Yoakam was such an incredible actor before that?

Certainly not me

Yeah, Dwight Yoakam is a revelation in that movie. ****ing Doyle man, what a total bastard of a man. But as you say, there are moments of total comedy, even though it often comes across as "unintentional", you can't help but laugh. When Doyle throws his band out... It's just so ridiculous, you have to laugh, especially when he goes after the guy in the wheelchair? Are you shitting me? Hahahaha...

I'll go to a political rally to get my fill for that kind of content. I came for the sport.

The opposite doesn't make sense. No one goes to a concert but first has to watch replays of a sporting event.

I always thought it was mostly because of being played at civic arenas and stadiums but nope.

Also, as much love as this movie gets, i think "Spun" was even more accurate and graphic. Mickey Rourek's character was basically my dad minus the gay shit. It's weird seeing my dad as a movie character.

Good movie. Eric Roberts was a crazy character in that film.
