Vinnie's injury obviously complicated things, but this reinforces the idea that Sal's days behind the dish are numbered. He just isn't a very good defensive catcher anymore and his knees can't take it.
Fermin needs to be our backstop full time next year, Sal can pick up a few random days here and there. Sal needs to be at 1B or DH. Same with Vinnie. They can switch off next year until Cags gets up to the Bigs. Then you'll have a mess to figure out. |
