Dexter (Showtime)

Anyone watch this show?

I was bored and watched all three episodes that have been aired so far on OnDemand. I actually think the show is pretty damn good so far, I like the character a lot.

This was worse than Lost, IMO. But I'm more invested in Dexter; I've been following Dexter season-by-season since the second year. I binge watched all of Lost on Netflix.

Good question. I stopped reading them after the 3rd mind control cult book. My biggest problem with the TV show is they never used Dr. Danco from the second book. He was an amazing villain.

I have to agree with most here. Season 4 is the high mark then it stopped being great. It started being bad when the Deb is in love with Dexter plot line started. And then we got last night.

I absolutely loved this write up of the finale. He nailed everything wrong with it:

Just watched this. This last seadon was work to watch, but I felt I had to see the end. I figured it would at least end well. Whoa, was I wrong. Whaf a pile of unrealistic bullshit. The Trinity killer should have killed Dexter 4 years ago.

I guess the writers thought that Dexter forced himself to live with the consequences of his actions, that he hurt everyone he loved. But what a cop-out of an ending.

Like I said, it would have been a weak ending to a series that started out very well, but I wouldn't have been so vehemently disappointed if they'd have left the last 20 seconds of the finale off. What a bunch of bullshit.

I would have loved the lumberjack ending if he unhooked the chain and the pile of logs rolled off and crushed him to death deus ex machina style!

Just finished it... hated it. Not Shield awful, but pretty awful nonetheless. Oh well. Another good series that went out with a self-inflicted wound to the face.

****. Why did you have to remind me about the ****ing piss-poor ending to the Shield?

I'm still pissed about the "family meeting".

Jeremy Jahns is an excellent youtube reviewer and pretty much nailed, not only the last season of Dexter but the entire series.
