Tonight after work I'm supposed to meet Mrs. Blowfish for dinner at the Rhineland, a German restaurant on the Independence Square. Try the Chicken Ala Hitler! Actually, the food is good and the beer is top notch. There's a little gift shop across the street called Scandanavia Treasures...can't wait until the Rhineland occupies it!

Was going to grill a 6 pack of bone-in pork chops and baste with Sweet Baby Rays sauce... but the weather sucks today and I dont feel like it
So I'm baking them instead Then whipping up a killer batch of baked jalapeno rotini and cheese... fresh diced jalapeno, bag of mild cheddar, some Swiss for tang, milk, butter, bake |

Do we live in a glorious time or what? We can sample the best of every cuisine without leaving town. We we have better access to ingredients than kings 200 years ago.

Found fennel seed at Menard's for 1/2 the price of Hy-Vee. The women associates were all solid 8's, I will call that a score. Spent 11.50 and also bought a pair of gloves and some toothpaste. |

Strange to think that just 40 or 50 years ago it wasn't this way. I talk to my parents about the restaurants they had available at that time and it's not even close. In most cities that weren't NY or LA you were lucky to have a decent Italian place, forget about Indian or Thai or Greek.
