Trolling (I hope) aside, this was a far better outcome to the season than I anticipated. Back in Dec and Jan this was a mediocre to bad team.
I have to say, as hard I was on Perry, I'm damn proud of the turnaround he made, and developed as a team leader. This year would have sucked HARD if he doesn't come around. Same story different dude with Lucas. I was a BIG Lucas homer his first 2 active years, but it appeared it isn't happening. Then it did. I posted about it in the conversation about Arizona's coach. Lucas is who we dredged the bottom of the barrel for when Tarzuski (sp) bailed. Lucas is arguably better than Tarzuski. If Tarzuski would have come to KU, Self would have made him a mountain of money. Mason and Graham are really fun to watch. They're not prototypical Self guards, but they downright carried this team to a shitasston of W's. I have no idea WTF Selden is doing, but he turned it around for a stretch there. The dude is so big, strong, and fast, he could win games by himself. Instead he settles for shitty stat lines. I'm typically wrong about NBA picks, but I wouldn't pick him early. Hopefully we can get some decent recruits and Bragg/Dialo develop. It appears (from a billion miles away) that they both have the right attitude. Greene, if he could move laterally, would be a hell of a player. But the dude is about out of eligibility. Hopefully Svi takes the next step forward and begins to rape faces. TBH, I'm a bit of a Vick homer. I'm anxious to see him hit the court. Like I said, it ended up being a far better season than I was anticipating, even before the season started off so shitty. Proud of our guys and what they were able to put together. |

They underperform seed under Self, clear fact. And you're not fooling anyone bringing in Roy's 2 FF in 02-03

Since Andy Reid, the Chiefs have the second biggest playoff choke in NFL history, a narrow miss for a postseason berth, and a win against a shitty team with no QB. The Chiefs haven't done shit in the postseason. KU has. That doesn't mean the Andy Reid Chiefs are losers. But it does make them inferior to KU basketball in terms of success. |

Statistically Bill should have 4 FF not 2. Sucks but it is what it is. Perry was atrocious and Selden missed all 6 threes. Bummer

Moreover, I'm far busier now, and have far more responsibility. I simply can't afford to be emotionally devastated anymore. Sure it sucks, but there's not ****all I'm going to do about it, and besides that, I watched a hell of a lot of good basketball played with KANSAS on the front of the jerseys this year. It's happened before. It's happened to most other ballclubs. It's just the nature of the beast. But GODDAMN 2008 was fun. I'll take winning every day of the week. |

Self has the same amount of tournament wins as your "best coach in US sports history" since he arrived at KU. But let's not address that, let's go with ridiculous strawmen instead.
