Who was the guy on here who met Sneed’s brother in Vegas? He said they talked about Sneed’s contract and at least his brother seemed excited for him to get that $19.8M if that’s how it goes down.

Tyron Smith is very good but often hurt and he got up to 20 million.

Ok… this L’Jarius Sneed situation became a 💩 show. Had reports this morning that a trade was done. I addressed the reports. Never once confirmed them..

It depends how you frame it. We are talking about a $19.7m cap hit exclusively in 2024.

Chris Jones' number is north of $7m. Hollywood's will be north of $7m.

That's those two players alone fitting inside of what Sneed was going to make.

And Veach is gonna have more of those Tranquill level deals to come that you could frame it into but point is, it's not about AAV. It's about the 2024 cap hits.

It’s a little devious but the best path forward is to give Sneed a 4 year extension with a hometown discount that locks him in at a reasonable price.

Go for the three-peat, then trade him to the highest bidder for the last 3 seasons of the deal, which will then be cost controlled. In fact, at 2024 rates, it will probably end up being below market, especially if he gets recognized with an all pro or pro bowl finally. This should get us more/better draft compensation as well.

As always, the first year will have a great cap number since that’s how Veach rolls with extensions.

He could mess up his knee and then we are on the hook for 4 years too, but I rather go this route than just having him play on the tag or let him go for cheap.

Iowa. And you’re misremembering - Sneed’s brother said he wanted 22mm per.

They probably never had a comfortable world where the team would sign Jones and Sneed would play on the tag. It is what it is. Trade value isn’t the same when you immediately have to pay someone at the top of the market (see: Brian Burns who went for a crazy low amount).

So many of you say how much you trust Veach yet don’t seem willing to see this through.

We all wish it will be more than a 3rd + 2025 pick but shit we shouldn't be all that shocked.

He's 27 which isn't super young at that position. Has a questionable knee thing. Is gonna cost upwards of $20m per season to pay. Has concussion history.

Like the only thing I like about it is he's getting his money he's earned but the market is the market for reasons.
