This is starting to feel a bit like 2 years ago when I was really down on the team going into the season and somehow were more than not bad.

Let's hope for a better ending this time, because I'd rather seen them lose 100 games than get knocked out of the playoffs by the goddamn Cubs again.

Everyday I'm let down because I keep thinking the Schwarber leadoff and pitcher 8th experiment has to be over and then I see Maddon's game day lineup.
This mother****er is like the Andy Reid of game day managing. Arrieta vs Wainwright. Should be a high scoring affair. |

At this point I'd like to thank Boras for holding out on Arrieta to get that fat 7 year FA contract.

After that last inning the Cards broadcast showed a view in the left field bleachers that looked like whatever brick structure they built out there blocked off that entire corner of the outfield from view of the seats behind. Is that a thing?

Did you guys see that gun of an arm by Montero? He got the ball to 2nd on a hop and about 3 feet wide of the bag and jussssssssssst a bit after Pham was dusting himself off.
This guy is beyond embarrassing behind the plate. |

I think I was overly confident in the Cubs' ability to tee off on a 6+ ERA pitcher struggling to throw strikes and then actually do something besides weakly ground out when he hangs a curveball.
Maybe by the time the All-Star game comes around Maddon will try something a little different with the lineup. That ego trying to prove everyone and the numbers wrong. |
