Caitlin Clark said that she shouldn’t be criticized for this. We cool to shut the **** up about it being “classless” now?

She took the high road on it. A great role model and example. She is someone I can for sure see women's basketball being built around. It's about more than what you do on the court. You need to me an MJ or Mahomes type personality outside the lines to win people over. She has "it".

14.69 million viewers for the least watched Men’s National Championship Game ever.

9.8 million for the most watched Women’s National Championship Game ever.

Both were on network TV.

Sunday’s audience matched or exceeded every game of last year’s NBA Playoffs except for the NBA Finals (Game 7 of the Celtics-Heat Eastern Conference Finals also averaged 9.9 million) and topped every game of last year’s Major League Baseball Postseason except for the World Series, every NASCAR race since 2017 (including the Daytona 500) and every NHL game in more than 50 years (including the Stanley Cup Final).

Only 11 college football games averaged a larger audience during last season, including the playoff. The Rose Bowl had only slightly more viewers at 10.19 million.

And 99% of advertising dollars go towards men's sports. That might even out a little over the next generation.

Only if people start giving a **** about women sports. Unlikely to happen. Dollars follow the people and the people dont follow women sports.

Obviously advertisers are going to invest in a sport that has more viewers/fans in every metric... TV, streaming, web views, etc.

I think what Clark did is just as bad when you consider that there are multiple instances, including in-game. Not even in-game, but "between the whistles" so to speak.

In any case, I think Reese's actions have been blown out of proportion. Clark invited this sort of thing when she was talking her shit.

In one instance the player getting waved off can use her skills and abilities to make you pay for the disrespect shown by waving her off and drive and score or in some other way make you look foolish on the court during the course of the game. In the other, the game is over and the player can either ignore it or take it personal and start a scuffle. Obviously very different dynamics of risk to yourself and team with the disrespect/taunting.

Clark herself basically said it was no big deal. Bluder has been nothing but complimentary of LSU (including declining an invite to the WH because she said that honor belongs to LSU).

The fact that this is still an issue when the actual participants don't see it as an issue says a lot about our society.

The media LOVES a good controversy, especially if they can make it a racial issue. Our media is the pariah we should be universally loathing
