Andy Reid called me, and he asked CP to fix the offense.

I think we can all agree the offense has not been up to par this season.

At this point, there's only so much we can do about it. Our best WR got injured and is missing the season, our best RB is out until December, our LT situation is messy and our stud TE is looking his age.

So, is this who we are now? Is 30 points a game a distant memory?

What can be done?

(Andy Reid is lurking in this thread, so make sure you're on your best behavior.)

I've been bearish against the Ravens all offseason and so far this season, and I still think the team they were in Weeks 1 & 2 is more indicative than who they were in Week 3.

Everyone has "almost beat us" this year though.

I don't really judge based on that game as much. Rivalry, etc.

The Bengals defense isn't gonna make it thru the season.

Scoring inside, the 10 has been a big problem for us over the last several years despite our winning two Super Bowls.

In the past, we have been able to rely extensively on Kelsey as a big threat in that area but we have still had problems that seem to make us rely excessively on gimmick plays. I include the corn dog passes that have been so successful in the last two Super Bowls here. But now Kelsey doesn’t seem to be nearly as much of a threat.

I had hoped that Steeles would turn into the kind of really powerful runner that would help us out here. That still may turn out to be the case.

Clearly, we could not have afforded a Derrick Henry. But there were some things that I wondered about us doing to address the goal line situation that we never did.

I think we might have been able to afford Eckler and he is always shown an ability to score touchdowns. And he would’ve been a great compliment to Pacheco. But maybe he was not affordable either.

Another option would’ve been to bring in a quarterback to play in those situations and do the kind of things that we don’t seem to want Mahomes to do because they are too risky to his health. Fields might’ve been perfect here. Malik Willis might’ve worked well too. It would seem weird to take the ball out of Mahomes‘s hands in these cases, but with the way our playcalling and scheme design goes I think we could have a more effective option.

I don’t really understand why a quarterback sneak approach is completely off the table given that we have the best interior OLin the league by far. I get that Mahomes got hurt during this once. And so did Brady and was out for a season. But that didn’t stop him from becoming one of the best QB sneak options of all time.

Maybe these aren’t realistic or useful ideas. But scoring from within the 10 yard line has been a problem for a while and I don’t think we’ve done anything to specifically fix it.

The struggles in the redzone seem to be, to me, that areas get small down there and you have to anticipate throws and moreso trust guys to be where they're supposed to be when theyr'e supposed to be.

No matter how things change, they stay the same: the Bengals and the Bills are looking like our toughest competition this year.
Just stop. It's too early to say that. That roster is pure shit. Joshy has been playing hero ball, let's see what happens when the hits start adding up.

Yeah, it's become pretty apparent that Direckshun doesn't watch games that don't involve the Chiefs. The Bengals aren't a threat this year with their defense in that state. Mahomes played one of his worst games as a professional in large part to Kingsley getting lit the **** up by Hendrickson and we still beat them.

Mahomes will fix his shit, Kelce will come alive soon, and the offensive play calling will stop ****ing around in the red zone soon enough. There's almost NOTHING you can point to that the Bengals will significantly improve at. This is who they are this season. It's the Burrow, Chase, and Higgins show on offense until they inevitably get injured, and it's Hendrickson playing for a new contract. That's it.

Meh, whatever.

When it matters Andy will whip out Tom & Jerry, Corndog, Wasp, or whatever squirrely bullshit he's got tucked in the back of the playbook. When it really matters (playoffs) we'll get it done.

Always do.

I saw a trade speculation article today. It mentioned that the Titans are going nowhere and might want to trade away DeAndre Hopkins. They mentioned the Chiefs as a possibility. I'm not sure if I would want that or not. He's 32 years old, on an $8M salary that would be prorated, but he's a free agent at the end of the season with 3 void years on his contract. If he would help jumpstart this offense, then it would be worth it. But I am more concerned with left tackle.

We're not trading for a left tackle. It's either what we've got or signing Smith. (Probably what we got) I'd love trading for Hopkins if the compensation is reasonable. We don't need him to be a one. We have one of those. But at that price he could be a big difference maker.

Bahktiari would be a huge pickup and he said he wants to win a ring before he retires. He should be healthy by now. I bet we sign him during the bye if LT is still a major concern.

Damaged goods, isn't he? You might as well grab Donovan Smith. At least Mahomes is very familiar with him instead of having yet another brand new person at LT. I think Mahomes will get a lot more comfortable with these 2 younger LT's the more time he spends with them, so hopefully they don't need to grab a washed up veteran LT from the street. If they're gonna make some moves, I would prefer to see it at receiver after the Hollywood injury.
