They usually say "Pay Cut" if the player lost money. When they say restructure it usually means the team moved some money around but there wasn't any reduction in pay. Restructure usually means more guaranteed money because they turned base salary into a bonus.

We restructured a few guys already hopefully that won't bite us in the ass down the road.

It the team cuts/trades the player before the end of the contract it increases the hit to the team. The more years left, the bigger the hit. |

From what I can see from the revised salary structure, looks like the Chiefs saved a bunch of money for this year and he will be an ideal cut candidate for next year, assuming someone steps up to take his place this season. This restructure makes a lot of sense to me. |

We’re ready to cut him, but I believe that with Rankins injury recovery and the virus forcing virtual OTA’s and possibly no training and a late season start, their hands were tied and couldn’t rely on a newcomer with no prep time to take over. |

No matter how you slice it, we need to start getting younger and cheaper along the O-Line. That’s one spot on the team where we can offset some of the large contracts we will be handing out soon.
I could see Fisher being cut after next season if Niang is ready. I think we’ll keep Mitch as long as we can (or until his play drops off a cliff). |
