When you have a team that has a culture that expects excellence and nobody is immune to criticism, everyone is equal and that poor play will have consequences - and then you have a coach telling people the QB is exempt because he's too emotionally fragile or whatever - that's a problem. The whole system breaks down if not everyone is held to the same standard. |

In reality, Pete Carroll didn't handle it very well, you can't make your defensive stars feel like they are being pushed aside for this guy. He probably should have been harder on Wilson in game evals and practice when he deserved it because honestly that is the culture he built there.

I'm sure he's more comfortable playing in Goff's shadow.

No idea where you get this idea. Teams don't usually say a damn thing about ex players.

Like you see Peters on the sideline celebrating his ass off during the preseason game against the Titans when Mahomes threw that insane pass to Robinson
Did Peters not realize that Mahomes was a light skinned rich kid at that point? Posted via Mobile Device |

It happens enough that we, us white guys, know not to comment. Since it comes up in my little part of the world, I could see alpha males in a locker room getting into this topic. |

So is "He was mad because Mahomes was going to be a bigger star than him!" Irresponsible speculation? Maybe. I've seen it so many times it seems reasonable to me. |

Secondly, if you actually look at their reactions, you'll notice the players were actually cheering for the receiver, Demarcus Robinson. Robinson made a spectacular catch, and since his future with the team was in doubt, the players were happy to see him earn the job because they all saw his potential I always wondered why fans thought they were cheering Mahomes, while looking and smiling at Robinson... |

There was no pushback against it, because that's not how Wilson does things. He's a goody-two shoes nerd. |

Didn’t Russell Wilson have similar issues due to his light skin?
