Year Two of the Matt Quatraro tenure. Time to take a step up this year. Active in free agency and trades this offseason. A new look pitching rotation and bullpen. The 2024 Baseball America Prospect Handbook is out. The Royals are 30th out of 30 in farm system talent rankings.

Yes. I use Cot's Baseball Contracts and they have Dozier being owed $9,250,000 this year.

You're reading way too much into it, especially with a high risk group of teenage prospects.

There's a thought process in baseball scouting that shortstops are the best athletes and are on the top of the defensive spectrum. It's easy to move a shortstop to another position with ease. It's not often you see an organization sign three amateur first basemen for instance because their value would be entirely in their bat.
