Andy stuck with and overpaid average QB’s for like 6 years before Mahomes.

You guys act like generation QB’s are available every year

You down-vote me again and I'll meet you at the George Brett statue to tell you in person you aren't getting a happy birthday thread next year. Bitch.

Dak basically said, "I play for love of the game, this contract and the money don't motivate me."

Ugh. I didn't care about this shit or his contract until now.

What a lying ****ing douchebag.

Did he pay them 60 million to poison the roster for multiple years?

Wonder how much he gets in Year 1. Last time he got $75M in Year 1 on a $40M annual salary. Maybe $90-100M for Year 1 this time around.

Those are cap hits, not cash. Mahomes’ cash flow is $53M per year from 2023 to 2027 and never goes above $60M in any single year. The cap hits are pretty high because of earlier years where the Chiefs moved some of the cap money into the future.

I get that everyone wants to get paid what the market will give them. But I also just don't understand why a guy this heavily scrutinized wouldn't take a pay cut if it makes his team better. Is going from stupid rich to ridiculously rich that worth it if you're constantly harassed for not getting the job done?

Prescott has a chip on his shoulder because Dallas used the franchise tag on him instead of giving him a new contract after his 3rd year in the league. So he’s gonna squeeze them for every dollar. It’s a funny situation. And now every other QB will want more money than Prescott.

Sure, but it's just weird for me. No QB gets dogged as much as he does for not getting the job done. Why not silence the critics by surrounding yourself with a great team.

Ego is a big part of it. Will be hilarious if he has a shitty game today right after getting that contract.
