KC BBQ sauce as a gift

I’m looking at getting my brother in law some BBQ sauce from KC for Christmas. Which brand is the best?

**** you, KC Masterpiece assholes because I know it’s coming.

Jack Stack?
Gates?
Joe’s?

For non-spicy, I recommend Jack Stack, but Joe's is good too.
Night of the living is made by Cowtown and their regular sauce is really good too
I keep a bottle of that on hand as well. I need to get the Carolina sauce joes keeps on the table it is pretty good

Cowtowns original won best BBQ sauce at the American Royal and I would say next to night if the living it is the best sauce I have ever had. I would highly recommend it

Not KC, but Foy's hot. $4 for a mayo sized jar. You can't go wrong.

Yes, Cowtown Joe's KC and Oklahoma Joe's are the same from my understanding. At least that's what I read somewhere. The restaurants split up years back the original sauce has 3 different names under the same recipe.

Edit here is where I read it.

Oklahoma Joes (in both Kansas City and Oklahoma) have been winning BBQ competitions with their Cowtown BBQ sauce since they opened in 1996.
Cowtown is a reference to Kansas City, and the BBQ sauce is made in Kansas City. But the name remained Oklahoma Joes because that's where the first restaurant was opened.
In 2014, the restaurants split up - Kansas City became Joes Kansas City. Oklahoma remained Oklahoma Joes. The restaurants in Washington DC will be called Oklahoma Joes.
They all use Cowtown BBQ sauce. But they added a new bottle that says Joes Kansas City (same as Cowtown Original).
So there are 3 different bottles that are all the same sauce: Cowtown Original, Joes Kansas City, and Oklahoma Joes. The hot BBQ sauce is called Night of the Living Sauce.

1 KC Masterpice Original Silver Label

Before you bag on the KC Masterpiece, this is the original Rich Davis receipe with cane sugar, not the Clorox-Branded National BS with Corn Syrup in it. The above six is a really good cross section of all the different tastes of KC BBQ. I'd include Rosedale's Sauce, but it has to be refrigerated.

I'd also send some Gates Seasoning or Joe's Fries Seasoning.

Something quick and easy would be this:

Thanks. I didn’t know that. Now I will have to do a taste comparison between cowtown original and joes because as I recall they don’t taste anything alike. Cowtown has a little kick to it.
