****Our Wide Receivers Suck- Official Thread****

They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

Just common sense.

With the salary cap, you're not going to field a complete team. There will be weaknesses somewhere. Last year's Chiefs also struggled in short yardage and had an inferior WR group compared to Philly, Cincinnati, and Buffalo. The Eagles had a complete team and still lost in the Super Bowl. The Bengals O-Line couldn't block in key moments despite having WRs we can only dream of.

The receivers indeed suck, but if they didn't, this team would likely be undefeated now. That's the salary cap though. The defense wasn't as strong last year either. Nor in 2019.

They're one of the contenders. They're 6-2 despite these receivers because of other strengths elsewhere.

There's nothing wrong with bitching as long as the context isn't lost. They can win with this WR group, but yes there will be challenges. It's nice to have Pro-Bowlers at every position but that's rare.

Of course.

But that weakness *probably* shouldn't be at a position that the dude we paid half a BILLION DOLLARS relies heavily on.

Kill them in the flat and outsides if they want to drop safeties
The screen game was dead in the water against Denver. Negative yardage on those plays early in the game.

We dont need Pro - Bowl WR's. We just need ONE go-to WR, and we're golden. (This year)

I don't disagree but look at the reverse of that. What if we had the 49ers WRs but Brock Purdy at QB?

With Hardman now in the fold, and Rice grabbing the bitch by the pony tail, it seems to me that the solution going forward is to simply swap Toney and Moore. Put a ****ing real WR out there on the outside and use Moore in the slot when we go 4 wide.

Quit playing Moore on the outside where he's clearly lacking the physical presence to challenge team's top corners. Put Toney out there. Let Hardman do the gadget stuff and keep feeding Rice in short to intermediate spaces and let him utilize his RAC ability.

I still think Moore can be better than the waste of skin he's been up to this point. But they gotta get him free releases and operating in space. Putting him against the sideline where bigger, badder, faster DB's are pressing him and squeezing him just aint it.

This year? Agreed, don’t absolutely have to have an all pro WR. But in the next 2-3 years I’d strongly argue that a pro bowl receiver (WR or TE) is a high priority. Having a “go to” receiver like Juju is fine if they’re option B to Kelce’s option A, but when option A is no longer a great #1 option? Going to need to find a difference maker elsewhere.

At the very least need to have a receiver room that isn’t a collective group of reeruns who force your QB to regress in to bad habits because they can’t be counted on to do simple things.

Niners problem is just staying healthy. They're a better version of the Chargers. Loaded roster, always injured.

I think the team that will really be kicking themselves if they don't win a ring in the next few years is Philly. They are loaded at every position on the roster. Very good QB, arguably the best OL in the league, one of the best receiving groups in the league, one of the best defenses in the league. If they don't win a ring with this team, it would be hilarious.

We’d be in the Conference Championship game every season?

Yes, I meant this year. But agree going forward, we do.

100% this

And I still think the plan was to give Moore half a season to see if he could be the guy. He can't be the guy and now they gotta pivot to what's working.
