The wife and I got our moderna booster on Wednesday.
She felt crappy for 24 hours with a headache and body aches. Not as bad as the 2nd shot...but still not pleasant for her. I felt nothing. I am invincible. |

My wife and I just got a Moderna booster around 1:30, and then had a couple beers. No side affects so far (other than a slight buzz ), but it sounds from other accounts we may need to watch out. For peeps that have extenuating circumstances, they get .5 dose. We got .25 dose. No sides yet. Will advise. GLTA!

My daughters got their first shots on Tuesday. It will be nice having them vaccinated.

If the Moderna vaccine has more than 3x the mRNA than the Pfizer, why do people need a Moderna booster as quickly as a Pfizer booster?

Dose-response curves aren't always linear. Example: if you take any more than 600mg of gabapentin at once you're only going to get more side effects. It could easily be that a certain threshold is needed to stimulate an immune response and once that threshold is surpassed the durability of immunity is relatively consistent regardless of initial dose.

Nope.
On a separate but related note, although not a ton, I have seen kids die of COVID. I've seen a larger number that needed a vent, and many, many kids that were hospitalized for either acute treatment, or MIS-C as a result of post-COVID effects. I've seen NICU kids delivered over three months early because of COVID + moms. I haven't personally seen any kids that required treatment as a result of vaccine side effects. Get your kids vaccinated. If you're worried about them feeling under the weather for a few days, try to schedule the shot on a Friday. |
