Andrew Luck Retires

Filed to ESPN: Andrew Luck has informed the Colts he is retiring from the NFL, per source. There will be a press conference Sunday to make it official, but Luck is mentally worn down, and now checking out.

Yeah, i just don't know what they do on offense. Foles was good in Philly with great HC's and offensive guys and great players around him.

I remember what he was in LA with an awful offensive staff.

Jags will be good defensively though.

Soon you won’t be able to hit QB’s. Owners want more games to get more money. They are losing money because the best QB’s and faces of the league have missed considerable time/retired the last 3 years.

It’s been really bad. Ain’t nobody watching backups.
Qb's draw eyes.

I get it.

This guy knows what he's talking about. He once played W.O.W for 18 hours straight and didn't need his wrist brace for the first 14 hours. If anyone knows what a bitch is it's this guy. It's Mr. Badass Message Board Guy.

Defense can only get you so far. In the early 2000s we'd be Super Bowl bound with our defense, but now it just doesn't work anymore.

I'll be interested to see if the D is as good this year as it was 2 years ago. They've added Josh Allen so it could be, but they've lost some guys as well.

I saw something recently that Bouye was potentially on the trade block or a cut? That true?

Won't be surprised if there is a flag football rule implemented in the near future for the QB's. But even that won't prevent the Deshaun Watson type of non-contact injuries in practice.

Unfortunately for most people - they dont have the financial positions to quit their jobs and focus on their health - but if they did - many would do exactly what Luck has done. I can't imagine the sort of shit he's had to deal with given the array of injuries he's had over the years.

Its pretty obvious that Luck told the Colts months ago he was mulling retirement. Im guessing the Colts brass told him to take his time in hopes he would change his mind. He didn't and now he's being ostracized for the timing of it.
This a perfect summation of my thoughts on the matter.

Anyone calling Luck a pussy or a bitch needs to politely

How is it pretty obvious that Luck gave the Colts a heads up months ago that he was considering retirement? By all accounts the Colts front office is stunned by his retirement.

Luck’s decision was selfish. This is not a life threatening injury such as a spinal cord/concussion injury.

Luck’s decision impacts the careers of 52 other players on the Colts roster, not to mention coaches, front office personnel, etc.

When you are a $100 million franchise player, you owe your franchise better than quitting on them two weeks before the regular season.

I am sure the prospect of dealing with another stubborn/mysterious injury was a stressful situation... that is the price of being a professional football player. Don’t take the $100 million if you don’t want to deal with it.

We had a SB caliber defense in 1993-1997

That was our window. We got Bono'ed out of it
