Definitely seasonal for me. Those bowls are huge and the broth comes out temp hot af. Couldn't imagine doing it during the summer, but this place is year round and only serves ramen so someone is doing it.

I can't pass up a hot and sour soup no matter what time of year.

I'm pretty sure I didn't have any soup during the summer. It's not for me.

I am really not a soup fan. At all. Too much sodium and just doesn't feel filling enough.
Never had a real Ramen though so that could change. KCUnited's picture looks great. Likely too hot here for me to really want it much of the year though. |

Sounds like you're not a fan of canned soup. Homemade soup can be quite filling and lower sodium. |

Damn, you're right. Missed opportunity.
Seriously though, I'm married to one of those Cali asian types, and I fought the idea of Pho for a long time because I'm not a fan of soups. We were in Houston a couple of years ago for a concert, and I let her pick the lunch spot as a thank you for surpriding me with concert tickets. Of all the good eats in Houston, she chose a ****ing hole in the wall Pho joint. Initially, i was annoyed. I ordered short ribs, and as i was tearing into them, she convinced me to try a bite of her Pho. One bite and I was hooked. We switched entrees, and I devoured the entire bowl. Nowadays I'm happy to go to any Pho joint. I squirt in some siracha for heat, and go to town. |
