Actually a lot of Pat's game reminds me of Elway.

That goofy footed and awkward running style Mahomes has reminds me of Elway. It looks un-athletic and yet the two of them would run around and escape tackles over and over and over.

Both had the arm strength to sling it from odd angles and without great footing.

There are a ton of similarities...

The fact that Elway was top 5 in certain stats when he retired is just as meaningless as comparing stats from different eras. If a QB played even one more season than the next guy, that's a huge advantage. Plus, if you can't compare his numbers to guys who played 5 years after he left the league, then obviously you can't compare him to guys who played decades before either.
