Excited about an upcoming fight? Want to make predictions, or just give people a heads-up that there are some fights on? We can do it here.

(Also a good place to complain, dicuss, and agrue about the outcomes)

I wonder how much of her earning potential is tied to her invincibility.

I don't think this is a Tyson situation because Tyson brought the fear of imminent, theatrical death to every fight he was in.

Rousey fights, at least with how they have ended, strike me as more of a clinical dismantling as opposed to a highlight reel knockout, and not really objectively entertaining.

I'm just spitballing here, but I wonder if a Rousey loss hurts her more because she's not exactly Julianne Moore in the acting department, and without the panache of her invincibility, is she really a draw?

Did she just lose three careers tonight rather than one?

Even clinical dismantlings in MMA are much more exciting than in boxing.

She still has priceless name recognition. Similar to John Cena who has the acting skills of Bristol Palin but yet can get any major role at any given time. If Rousey lost every single serious UFC fan, she would still have a female cult following. Then, there's your everyday horny American who will pay 10 dollars a ticket to potentially see a scene with Rousey wearing nothing but a bath towel.

That I can agree with. I'm a bit tipsy, so I might have not conveyed my sentiments correctly.. but a top heavy weight fight where it will be competitive.. i'll take that over any match up in UFC.. barring a crazy storyline going into the match. Boxing can be very boring with lousy fighters.

Its been dead about 10-15 years now. I think prime RJJ was about the last guy I cared about and enjoyed watching fight.

Go to YouTube, type in "Holm vs Rousey", and click on "last 1 hour". I know there's multiple ones.

Boxing is a reeruned pile of shit. I see two so-called "fighters" who are extremely restricted in what they can do, and they are engaged in a mental and athletic competition that might possibly result in damage upon one another. Boxing is not at all interesting to me or resembles a fight.

I don't think that really holds up because Cena has never been anything other than a bit character in any serious movie. Beyond WWE studios stuff, his biggest role is playing Dolph Ziggler in Trainwreck.

You might be right though about the latter part. I don't know. Personally, I wonder if what makes her her is the sum of the parts--the attractive, bad bitch who could kill any other woman she took on.

If you take out the latter, she's not exactly Kate Beckinsale. If you take out the former, is she Cyborg?

I do think the revisionism that has already come out will be interesting to see though.

Is there any particular reason why you are so belligerent tonight?

The problem with Cyborg is that she looks like a bunion and sounds like Andre the Giant after a carton of cigarettes. If Ronda Rousey wasn't built up as the 9th wonder of the world, she would probably be an above average looking girl that you wouldn't look twice at if she was walking past you at the mall. Fortunately for her, she'll always have that bad-ass persona. Similar to a guy like Kimbo Slice who became famous for beating up literal bums on the side of the road, and then got picked apart when he started fighting actual mixed martial artists.
