Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs
Well, it looks like the deal is done.
https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed Jay Glazer @JayGlazer 49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith Jay Glazer @JayGlazer Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith. |

Some 49ers players were worried that Kaepernick would be a step down from Alex, but he won them over when he showed he was a step up. They were worried Kaepernick would cost them games. He won them over when he showed that he could put the team on his back and carry them. |

Either way, Kaepernick hit Crabtree a lot. Why Alex didn't or couldn't, we will never know. It is not as if Crabtree starting running routes differently for Kaepernick. If Vernon Davis could catch Kaepernick's 60 mph passes on his hands like Crabtree can, maybe he would have been targeted more. Crabtree only dropped 3 of Kaepernick's laser passes through Kaep's 1st 5 games. Kaepernick already stated why he targeted Crabtree more, saying, "he was open." Which I take at face value. |
