Also Soto's hit was a dribbler through the infield but that's playoff baseball.

I don't even remember Trever Cahill but remember Ken Harvey almost killing Jason Grimsley.

It won't matter because we don't have the plate discipline to not swing when they can't throw strikes.

that would be nice but we'd have to stop swinging at pitches out of the zone to get into that position. the Yankees aren't swinging at balls. we have too many guys that will swing at everything.

And that inning is the downside to using analyticals. Numbers say don't let Wacha go 3rd time through. Numbers say use Zerpa with the lefties coming up. Human element comes into play.

As much as that half inning sucked, we are fortunate AF it wasn’t a true disaster. Zerpa wasn’t missing that bad, and got no borderline calls whatsoever along the way. Not even faulting the ump, just uncanny consistency. They were all high leverage at bats thanks to the leadoff walk, with the likes of Soto and Judge right out of the gate.

Knocked Cole out pretty early and did some damage.

No matter what, the Royals should not be intimidated by these Yankees.
