There is a very, very loud section of the baseball fandom who is 100% behind DeWitt and the owners. They feel if the books were opened, they’d show the owners were making only marginal profits or even losses and have bought the owners ridiculous take that Forbes' reporting is completely off base.

I’d even wager that the grand majority of fans I know in person are firmly in the owners camp over the players for that reason.

And those fans enable this sort of bullshit from the owners.

But still, only to a point. If baseball loses this season, Soccer will overtake them as the summer sport within the decade. Something is going to fill that void, probably an outdoor sport. There really aren't any other options for it.

I won't be back if this season doesn't happen. Didn't say that last time but I am absolutely furious at the owners right now.

Royals will get either Austin Martin or Asa Lacy. So either the top hitter or the top pitcher.

That. Will. Play. Especially considering how the early picks have played out in the past (with consensus guys going before KC has a pick).
