The hourglass means Veach has to meet his demands, so the Chiefs have likely offered their max to him and he still wants more, so he’s willing to leave the chiefs for likely $3 to $5 million per year more.which is likely tops $15 to $20 million total depending on 3 or 4 years, which isn’t nothing but it shows it’s not about the fans, the city, the franchise or the threepeat, it’s about him and his money.

So he's like every other human being in the world?

And we have a QB getting half a billion dollars and as of now accounting for 60mil in cap space. He too is about the money.

Stop acting like players are so different from every other human being.

If Jones retired today he'd be a hall of famer. If he continues being excellent he'll be a first ballot and if he drops off he'll wait a few more years.

It’s going to be close for him. He’s not a slam dunk yet like Tyreek.
A person can make a pretty strong argument that we might only have one ring if Chris Jones wasn't on the field. His pass breakups against the 49ers the first time and his big third down play in the latest 49ers Super Bowl may have fundamentally changed the course of the game.

What a ride…got bear-hugged by Chris at the NFL Draft in 2016 in Chicago…watched him become one of the top 3 defensive players in the league for our favorite team…watched Chris dominate in the playoffs and win 3 SBs…watched Chris leave and finish his career on a low note because his ego got in the way…thanks for the memories, Chris

Nah. People make decisions like that every day. I had a chance to go to a competitor several years ago for about 20% more. Decided not to go because I liked my company and we were considered one of the best. I had another friend go there and while he was making more he was not enjoying his job nearly as much. He said the extra money was worth it to him, it would not have been to me. These decisions are made daily. Many more jump at the dough, but a fair number don't. Even a smaller number in the NFL. I would rather retire like Jason Kelce if I was Jones, and when you are talking $150 mil in earning compared to $160 mil (est)before taxes.

Not to mention winning one on one off the edge in the AFCCG vs Cincy at the end of the game last year.

Likely but you never know what we would’ve had instead. We would’ve made other moves to address the position.

5x first team all pros for Tyreek as opposed to 2 for CJ95.

Tyreek also plays a much sexier position and has the mystique of his speed going for him.

I think CJ is a HOFer. He may just have to wait longer if he leaves KC.

If he stays he will be a no doubt first ballot lock.

Sorry that the QB position is the highest paid in the NFL. You can try to say, “BUT WHA ABOUT PATRICK MONEY!?!” But that’s just a stupid comparison. Can every player say that as to why they need max contracts or are you going to be Drue Tranquill and sign the deal and let’s get to work. Not blow smoke up the fan bases ass for two years straight just to be a greedy **** when actions are required.

Jason Kelce was the highest paid center in the league last year so....that's a weird player to bring up.

How much do you think Drue Tranquil gave up? Do you think he was in the conversation for best LB in the league and teams were just banging down his door to make him a high paid LB or something?

And Patrick being the top QB in the league is able to demand what he's paid. Why isn't that same luxury afforded to Jones as the top DT in the league?

In fact even in 2019 he signed the highest contract for a center

Isn't that what Chris Jones is trying to do at his position? Hell we don't even know if he's trying to beat Aaron Donald's contract

I know everyone has their own timelines on when they want a deal done, but I don't care for the crapping on Chris Jones even before he's gone, if he's gone. I wasn't happy about him holding out last year, but we did just win the Super Bowl again, so I can forgive him for that. For those that want to be pissed at him for leaving, if he's leaving, can we please just wait until that is at least somewhat official?
