Peters has almost the exact same height, weight and speed Hasty did when he was playing.
Peters, like Hasty, is an excellent, physical man cover corner with a nose for the ball. It's a fine comparison, and much more accurate than Deion Sanders. Peters doesn't and obviously will never have the make-up speed Deion had. |

Peters doesn't play a lot of press man though.

You can't even have a conversation without turning into a 14 year old spaz. Hasty had 4 interceptions returned for TD's in 14 years. Peters has 2 in essentially 2 years. They're not even close to being the same player nor the same career trajectory. |

BossChief, ultimate homer.
Also, career trajectory is a dumb way to compare players. Hasty played for the shit-ass Jets. He was on bad defenses for the first part of his career. Of course he wasn't going pick six crazy at the start of his career. The guy was still a ball-hawk, though. And a physical, man cover corner, with good, not great, speed. Like Peters. |

Just listened to Greg Cosell on the Herd.... was talking about Alex Smith and what was leading to his surge in performance thus far.
Cosell, like most of us already know, went on and on about how strong our weapons are, more specifically the three-headed monster of Hunt-Kelce-Hill. |

Haammock is correct in this instance. Comparing Peters and Jones to those two is pretty ridiculous. Those guys are elite legends. Silly.

I agree that Peters ins't comparable to Sanders. Their game is entirely different. Playstyle is entirely different, as is their physical ability. Not a good comparison.

Ty Law might be a better comparison to style, but I was talking "upside"
Players don't have to have the same playing style to have similar impact. Also, Peters was second team all pro as a rookie and first team all pro in his second year. Comparing him to HOF quality guys shouldn't surprise anyone. The kid shuts down half a field in coverage. |

Deion had 53 picks and 9 ints to the house in 14 years. 8 pro bowls 6 all pros
Peters has 15 picks and 2 TDs in 2 years. 2 pro bowls 2 all pros in 2 years. |
