They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

Well played, Bart Varch
I’m not bitching, but I would be ecstatic to see Brown traded to the Chiefs for a third and then signed to a long-term deal. He’s been a better receiver on a shitty team than Hardman was on a great team. Then again, if we win the Super Bowl, our second round pick might be a fair trade. That’s assuming that the Chiefs can sign him to a reasonable new multiyear contract. By the way, Hardman has never broken 700 yards receiving, even when he played 17 games.

That said, happy to have Hardman back in the fold. I think he can help the team at this point. (I’m sure it was discussed with Mahomes. If Mahomes is happy with it, then it’s a good thing.)

In 2021, Pat's 'worst season,' Hardman accounted for 693 yards on 59 catches, 33 first downs, and a 71% completion rate, while only starting in 8 games.

As I said, he played in 17 games that year. The following year he played in eight games and got less than 300 yards.

You may be onto something.

It says something about the state of the WR room that Veach is bringing Hardman back, a player that he didn't even deign to make an offer to over the offseason. And Andy/Veach know damned well that Hardman is at best a partial band-aid; he's not good enough to be the "solution."

So maybe Veach does have another hand to play before the deadline.

But, I'm still leaning towards Veach not making any big additions to the offense. Doesn't feel like it's in the cards.

I’m leaning toward I prefer Veach as our GM.

100%.

Except for the part where he obviously should've made Mecole an offer during the offseason, and left James where he was. Other than that, absolutely.

Or it says that when you have two veterans out injured, if you have a chance to grab a guy familiar with the offense that also gives you a special teams boost for very little outlay, you probably ought to do it.

I saw some stuff flying around before the Hardman trade that Darnell Mooney might be a good fit in KC too

According to a former NFL executive who spoke to NFL Analysis Network, Chicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney is someone to keep an eye on for Kansas City.

“Darnell Mooney is going to be an interesting name to watch at the trade deadline. I think the Chiefs have some interest, as well as a handful of other teams.”

Would love this. Mooney is a just a guy that fits so many parameters.
