Agreed. He did a good enough job there identifying the free rusher and giving the QB time to get off an accurate pass.

More than the 'Hobo Spirit' stuff - THAT was when I turned on Eric Berry.
I know the Eric Berry stuff soured Houston on the Chiefs but wasn't Houston already hacked off at KC before that and the Berry situation just exacerbated it?

I don't think he ever had his burst back after that knee injury his rookie year, it's part of the game.

I was excited about the pick because he was such an effective receiver in college … his ability to route yo guys over the middle and in the flats and his short-area quickness popped off the screen.

His lack of size really hurts him as a receiver at this level.

I don’t think he ever got his cutting ability all the way back after the hip injury as a rookie, either.

Anyway. He stinks. It didn’t work and that is unfortunate.

It’s cool if the Chiefs signed him to a deal for this year to get him his fifth year and pension and insurance and etc. little things like that matter (and if he stays on this IL all year he doesn’t even fill a roster spot).

I don't know why that would be the case he had just gotten a $101 mil contract out of KC. We made him at the time the highest paid LB of all time and the highest paid Chiefs player of all time.

They both had this dumbass take of, “I’m demanding to get paid for the good of the little guy when it comes to NFL salaries.”

Which… **** off. You getting overpaid won’t raise the floor a damn penny for your run of the mill depth safety who plays special teams.

They both were great players, but when I look back and feel for all the Chiefs of the past who never got a ring, those two are pretty far down the list of dudes I care about.

I have them higher up than Dee Ford, though, so there is that

If all 3 were free agents and we had to bring one back, I'd pick Ford.

I just have no use for guys like Houston and Berry; these guys who want to burn bridges on the way out kinda piss me off. It's why I've never had any sort of nostalgia for Tony Gonzalez. He was a prick when he was here, 'big-timed' as many folks as possible, felt the city and the organization were beneath him and then when there was a chance for him to prove me wrong, he told the Falcons he didn't want to be traded back to KC.

Dude is dead to me. We're out there in the 2nd half of that Colts game desperately trying to find anyone with a pulse to throw the ball to prevent the biggest comeback in post-season history and you're gonna tell me that having Tony G instead of Anthony Fasano and his 2 catches for 6 yards couldn't have gotten us the 1st down we needed?

Eat all the dicks, Tony.

At least the Colts were kind enough to beat the Donkeys the next round. Lord knows we'd have screwed that up...

I agree.

But let’s be real here. It’s the shitty team tax.

We have to pay more because we were a shit franchise in a small market.

Mahomes changed soooo much.

Saw the X post from CJ… Didn’t see anyone share this SI story. But it’s still probably a repost. If so: sorry. Go Chiefs!

As our 4th back, he's pretty damn solid when healthy.

He's a good locker room guy, not really his fault fan expectations were set so high for him.

Not much to complain about IMO.

No expectations of a late 1st basically early 2nd round pick? Really? Those players should be expected to start and be considerable contributors to the franchise. They got it wrong! Johnathan Taylor even with his high usage in college had elite traits as a running back, the back that should’ve been drafted, maybe even Swift. Not sure why people feel the need to be apologists.

Perhaps you should then blame the men who drafted the player - Brett Veach and Andy Reid - rather than the player who by all accounts is a great teammate and locker room vibe guy even though he clearly has been lapped by other RBs on the roster. He’s not a malcontent.

That’s the point.
