Patrick Mahomes is now the overwhelming NFL MVP favorite
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl...yIbOTl70ncM4Zs
NFL odds: After Sunday night, Patrick Mahomes is now the overwhelming NFL MVP favorite Frank Schwab 2 hrs ago We can cease and desist with any debate about someone other than Patrick Mahomes being the NFL MVP favorite. You’ll hear people argue that Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, Alvin Kamara or anyone else should be “in the conversation,” but the only real talk is that the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is the overwhelming favorite until further notice. Everyone else is vying for NFL offensive player of the year, though Mahomes should probably win that too. Sunday night’s heroics, leading a game-winning drive over the Las Vegas Raiders everyone knew was coming, solidified Mahomes’ position. He’s the best player in football and he’s having a phenomenal year. The odds at BetMGM reflect that. Mahomes is -118 to win MVP at BetMGM. Next on the list is Wilson at +350. Aaron Rodgers is +550 and nobody else is less than 12-to-1. |

All the talking heads have basically given the MVP to Rodgers already.

But in 2018 they were all trying to talk themselves (and the voters) into Drew Brees as well over Mahomes because . . . . . completion % and GWD. That's it. Mahomes had everything else on him and had one of the all time great seasons for a QB. When it came time to vote, the voters overwhelmingly chose Mahomes. Not saying the same thing will happen this time. But it's interesting to note. The media sets the narrative (or attempts to), but the voters do their own thing. I personally could care less whether they give it to Mahomes or Rodgers. All that matters is Lombardi's. Aaron can have the MVP and another premature playoff exit. |

Rodgers could potentially wrap up a top 5 season for a QB as far as statistics are concerned and that'd give him two for his career. Dude's surgical and there's no shame if he takes the MVP.

Rodgers is likely going to finish this game with less than 150 yards passing 1 TD and 1 rushing touchdown.

Rodgers definitely leaving room for Mahomes to regain a lead.

Dude would have lost if Carolina has anything resembling an offense.

So apparently Rodgers now has the record for most seasons with 40+ touchdowns. It took him 13 seasons as a starter to get three.
Mahomes has a very good chance at getting his second such season in his third as a starter. |
