Old performers...Gordon Lightfoot

Not sure many care or even know who Gordon Lightfoot is...

Wife and I went to St Joe last night to see this 81 year old legendary songwriter do a concert. What a thrill for us who remember him from our days in the late 60s...

The voice has lost range and his stamina shows some weakness.

But the lyrics and passion for his music and love of his audience was amazing.

If you are not familiar, take some time out and enjoy what music a great songwriter can do and listen to a 12 string guitar in the hands of a master....

I feel blessed to have seen Gordon in person...

I noticed that also. They patiently waited until the song was finished and the APPLAUSE sign was signaled to clap like trained seals.

I was pretty late to Gordon Lightfoot -- discovered Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald maybe 15 years ago. Was amazed.

Great performer.

There were several singer/songwriters from that era that I particularly liked. In no particular order - Lightfoot, Chapin, Denver, Croce, Carole King.

I loved Harry Chapin the first time I heard him. John Denver, I thought was a tad quirky when he first jumped out there, but today I LOVE listening to his stuff.

I don't know - guess it just comes with age?
