USA Today: Chiefs finish last in the AFC West

Hope this gets put on the locker room bulletin board. Reid plays the "no respect" card.

I mean, Derwin James was a really ****ing good pick.

Not sure how soon it will happen, but eventually he's going to be as good if not better than in-his-prime Eric Weddle.

Much like Eric Berry's rookie season, however, I don't know how much he'll help the Chargers THIS year. Berry was fine, but if the Chargers hope to live up to the hype everybody is giving their defense, James is going to need to be better than "fine"

This is the Chargers we're talking about. They'll both be injured and out for the season by week 5

Only thing the Chiefs will finish last in is the draft order.

While I think the report is a bit extreme. It did remind me that the Broncos have Chubb and Miller. So all three teams have a pass rush that could break Mahomes in 2. I view our line as mediocre/decent.. but damn. Hope they call a lot of pass plays where they move the pocket!

Let's see what they all say when we hang a 40 burger on the Chargers in week one.

This! Chargers D is being hyped like the 85 Bears now that they have Lebron...I mean Derwin James.

Many picked us to start last season with a loss too.

Andy will have something good planned for these bitches.

We upgraded at QB,WR2, Both ILB spots ROLB ,Safety ,Corner and NT.

We downgraded in .......Nothing i can think of.

We also upgraded in coaching the 2 LB positions by separate coaching for them.

There's a good chance Bienemy can be better than Nagy. There really is.

But we'll go from 1st to last.

Even if you want to make the argument that LA and Oakland could leapfrog the Chiefs, there's no goddamn way that KC finished last.

Denver is complete ass.

It's sad that we SHOULD have that kind of pass rush, but Houston is a shell of his former self and Dee Ford is a brokedick. Houston should still be in the prime of his career, instead injuries have sapped him of his dominance.

I wish we could be forced to deal with a Julio Jones situation, where a player is signed to a big extension but still outplays the contract and tries to force a new contract. Generally, when we sign large contracts they are injured or underperform (Fisher, Berry, Houston).

It is interesting to me that the same people who always had a take similar to

"They have Alex Smith at QB, they have a ceiling on them with him, etc etc"

Are now the same ones saying

"They'll take a step back with a new QB , they'll miss Alex etc".

If we had kept Smith we might be picked as favorites to win the division, but we'd also be picked to lose in the first or second round of the playoffs. Mahomes is about having a chance to actually go further, even if we take a short step back in year one. These idiots in the media just can't understand that.

this is true; however I fully expect them NOT to take a step back. For every 0 INT game Smith put up where we struggled to score but hey, no turnovers-there were a handful of Tyreek running free 30 yards downfield moments. That's not gonna happen anymore.

Defenses can't stack the box to stop Hunt or we'll eat them alive. They can't roll coverage inside to stop Kelce, or we'll eat them alive. They can't double Reek deep, or we'll eat them alive. If this team's healthy, I don't know how you defense it other than blitz like mad and hope you get to Mahomes before anybody clears. And even then, you're susceptible to the home run play.

We're not going backwards without major injury problems. It's just not gonna happen.
