Below is a list of the cash flow numbers in proper context when you include earlier contract money that is still part of these deals. Burrow, Herbert, & Lawrence still had 2 years of "cheap" rookie money for instance. Goff still had 1 "cheap" year left on his old deal. Tua & Hurts each had one "cheap" year left on their rookie deals, and so forth... Mahomes - $53M per year ($265M for 5 years) Lamar - $52M per year ($260M for 5 years) Goff - $48.1M per year ($240.6M for 5 years) Tua - $47.1M per year ($235.6M for 5 years) Burrow - $44.3M per year ($310M for 7 years) Lawrence - $43.8M per year ($306.6M for 7 years) Hurts - $43.2M per year ($259.3M for 6 years) Herbert - $42.3M per year ($296.25M for 7 years) Allen - $35.57M per year ($284.55M for 8 years) I would think Josh Allen is gonna demand a raise pretty soon, like Mahomes did. He can easily point to these other contracts and say that he's a more valuable player than some of these other dudes. |

this is stupid!
If you are a QB in the NFL and you aren't working your ass off to just be somewhat decent as a starter, you're a dumbass. |

Honestly, if I were Clark Hunt I would consider walking up to Mahomes and offering him a restructure for $60 mill per year just to make a statement. We have the best QB and 2nd place isn't even close.
But the salary cap and probably wouldn't be smart, but I would appreciate the sentiment and it would probably improve morale (not that it's low or anything but still). |

Even though I don't like the idea of the league helping dumb GMs do their jobs, there will eventually be a separate cap for QBs or a limit on the percentage of the cap any one player can be paid.

Let's hope that day is far off in the future. Let the rest of the teams get bent over while our QB instead chooses to partner with his team and dominate the league.

Lol, MIA. Paying Tua $53M/yr for basically Alex Smith without Alex's mobility. Though, I honestly expected them to pay him north of $55M/yr, so I guess they got a bit of a deal here.
