They beat mostly bad teams during his interim tenure… and a Chiefs team that forgot they were playing a game on Christmas Day.

Kind of where I’m at.

We haven’t seen Pierce have to get a team ready through camp and all that.

He did a nice job when he took over, but teams seem to play well for these guys for short periods. No clue how well he’ll maintain that long term.

Happens with back up QBs a lot too. He might be great, but I’d say that’s far from certain.

You aren't wrong there.

It's like, sure you can rally your troops to turn around a season, but can you plan your own season? Can you adjust to when teams scheme against you with preparation?

It's kind of like the Shaka Smarts of the world who make a deep tournament run and then get a big contract and spend years disappointing after that.

AP needs to surround himself with solid folks as he lacks a great deal of experience. He is definitely a motivator and he gets the most out of the players but who he surrounds himself with will be telling.

https://twitter.com/oakland627/statu...hoAmm7JxkAn_CA

Tom Coughlin and Marvin Lewis will be consulting AP with hiring staff and anything else needed according to Mike G and other insiders.

I am really surprised they didn't do something epically stupid. Shocking.

Then again Pierce is going to be way cheaper than any big name coach and they are still paying a couple of guys.

Glad they made the right decision. Now it’s up to the players to live up to their end of the bargain.

Chargers and Raiders will both be significantly upgrading their HCs. Hope it means last place for Donk. Division definitely getting more interesting.
