You are right from the country perspective anyway.....he really didn't have the career that George Strait or Alan Jackson have had....guys who have always been at their peak with every album.

People like him so much because of his "aw shucks" personality and some of it his politics too....those same people would never admit that Garth had a meteoric rise and then pretty much leveled out and dipped a bit.

I only had 3,553,534,965 hours on a 4430 and it was a mix of listening to country and pop through blown speakers. I really looked forward to the AM radio auction show on Saturdays.

It was 97.3 and on a good day I could get 98.1. The AM stuff was 1030. I think sometimes I could get 1310, but it was touchy.

Awwww **** I forgot about the old auction show on Saturdays. LOL. That was a nice change up. The pickup I used to change water only had AM radio. 1030 was the only thing it would pick up so I was on auto-listen.

Saw Garth brooks at the Linn co fair in the summer of ‘93, I think? I believe that was the year he won entertainer of the year. So he was kind of unheard of, sort of. That’s been I got my first job at a grocery store, and that’s all that played. So I started listening. It was okay.
