What in the **** are the Lions doing?

I know they are 3-1

But why in the world did you spend a top 15 pick on a RB if you were just gonna give David Montgomery 35 carries?

It’s objectively hilarious to me that they let a 22 year old, clearly talented RB go for a fourth rounder. But spent the 12th overall pick on another shifty RB. All to just give Montgomery 35 carries a game lol. I just think their approach to the RB position is super duper bizarre.

I won't lie though, when they played us, I was way more scared of Gibbs than Montgomery. Probably dumb because Sorensen and Matheiu are gone and we have speed in the back end.

Gibbs though is legit scary. I don't blame them for picking him.

They're idiots, but they're pretty good. Always good to see them house those entitled **** Packers.

Yeah, Gibbs was pretty electric in the first half on a couple rushes. In the open field you can flashes of what could be. If they get him up to 12+ carries/gm this season he's going to light some defenses up.

The only team there I enjoy being awful forever is the Bears. An incredibly overrated city that is chock full or c***s

I don't know, I think it's all looking very good for them.

Gibbs is a rookie. No reason to run the wheels off. I mean, I'm sorry your fantasy team isn't scoring like you want it to, but that offense looked great last night.

Yeah I hate the idea. Then again, if it works you look like a genius IF the plan is to use Gibbs later in the season. Adjusting to a full nfl season plus learning blocking schemes. Would be nice if he had fresh legs during the crucial stretch run.

That said I tend to think they’ll just end up under-using him

I’m not sure we’ve ever seen a top 10 RB NOT get immediately run into the ground.

It’ll be interesting to see how one fares being drafted into a RBBC situation.

Trust me... I'm plenty pissed for all of us that do have him.

4.6 YPC vs 3.8 YPC

Almost a whole yard more in YPC and he's the one riding the pine.

Honestly, I'd love to have him here. Think we can get him for a 3rd in 2 years at this usage rate?

I have no doubt tat by the end of the season Gibbs will get plenty of opportunities. Its a long season. I expect him to be a beast by the end of the season.

I hate to be "that guy" here, but you didn't have to watch much college football at all to know that Laporta, Branch, and Campbell would be incredibly solid players. That's why they were all taken within the first 45 picks. Branch was a monster at Alabama while Laporta and Campbell carried their respective sides of the ball at Iowa. I'm not saying they were bad picks AT ALL; I'm simply saying my Fantasy Football app would have likely picked them as BPA each time.

I honestly thought Carter was the best player in the draft and even suggested trying to trade up for him as he began to slide. Of course, the ****ing Eagles got him. Of course.

I've always thought Montgomery was kind of underrated. But I don't get why Gibbs isn't getting more work. They had the game in hand with 3 minutes and still put Montgomery in. Even though he had 30 carries already. Plus he was basically a game time decision with a quad bruise.

But I have them both in fantasy so obviously from here on out I'll play Montgomery.

I had some money on Gibbs but it’s hard to argue the lions did the wrong thing. Montgomery was annihilating that defense all night.
