They can’t get open, they drop passes in their hands, their jet sweeps are slow and terrible. These guys are not good.

The problem is that and....actual talent.

Plus this isn't necessarily a move for right now. Similar to Toney last year, it's more geared towards December and January.

Who is the underachiever? Hopkins? Brown?

And with Brown, could be someone you keep for a 2nd contract. If you're willing to do that for Toney last year I don't see why there would be a problem with Brown.

Toney had 3.5 years of team control while Brown has 0.5 year?

It's possible but Brown wouldn't wanna sign a FA deal this close to FA.

Oh I don't think he'd sign a deal in season. But if he played well, youd still have the franchise option at worst.

I don't even think we could resign him even if we wanted to and he wanted to midseason. Can't you only restructure contracts once a year? With Thuney and Mahomes already being restructured this year, think we have to wait until the off season to make big money moves.

Yeah, we couldn't if we wanted to.

It would be a rental with a chance to come back I guess.

And that’s why Toney was drafted in the middle of the first round. Because he clearly sucks.

This is what happens when Pat starts locking on to Trav. Throw the ball to who's open and good things will happen.

I don't know what's with the hyperbole in your post.

But Brown averages more yards per season than Toney has in his career. How do you not call that a lot better?

You’re saying after the fact that 3.5 years of what we’ve gotten from Toney thus far is equivalent in value to what we would get from a half season from Brown because Brown is far superior.

But you’re ignoring the fact that when the Chiefs traded for Toney in the middle of last season, no one would’ve necessarily assumed that Brown was a vastly superior player.

So it doesn’t follow logic that the Chiefs would just obviously give up what they did last year for Toney for a half season of Brown.

I’m not going back and reading this thread but are we talking about AJ Brown?

No, the problem is not overall talent. We have a first rounder and two number two picks.

We didn't reach for any, they were fairly consensus type picks.

They're not producing where we need them, and that needs to get figured out, but I have faith in the staff to do so.
