I think Karlaftis will be fine and probably a long-time starter, but I doubt he will ever be a difference-maker. He’s the sort of guy you’re happy to see a divisional rival draft in the first round.
Exactly how we feel about your first round pick! As well as some of your recent past firsts...

How mad you gonna be when after we’ve traded away Reek, and now have all but 1 WR that was here last season..... and your team blowing a bunch of picks on Russack Wilson..... and we still keep the streak alive? It’s gonna be so ****ing funny to watch, well for us Chiefs fans, not so much for the team that hasn’t beaten the division champions in.... checks absolutely hilarious stat.... 2417 days and counting??? I’m gonna bet you’re gonna be plenty mad, and your tears will still be delicious, even though we’ve had 2417 days of them already, they’re still ****ing delicious!! And you seem to have an unlimited amount!

In the past eight drafts, the broncos have spent the following draft picks on TEs.

2015 - 3rd
2017 - 5th
2018 - 5th
2019 - 1st
2020 - 4th
2022 - 3rd

I don't understand. What fascination do they have with TEs? And if they're so fascinated, why can't they draft them at all?

Notice that all of those picks have come after 2013, when Kelce was drafted.

Would be interesting to see the draft stock they've spent on small, speedy WRs since 2016 as well. I know Isaiah McKenzie and KJ Hamler are two.

All they can do is try to find trends and blueprints and copy them. The problem is it's REALLY hard to copy other teams and wind up successful, because you've got half of the other teams in the NFL trying to do the exact same thing.

They definitely drafted Fant and Hamler to try to emulate the Chiefs success...and, of course, failed. Rudderless ship...

The real gem was Horeface's gift to always draft/sign the very worst choice at OL...Bolle-cut looks to (kind of) buck that trend...meanwhile, Veach rebuilds KC's entire OL in one off-season...too funny.

I remember saying they should just take Quenton Nelson...that there was no way Horseface could **** up that pick....they took Chubb instead. Nelson looks to be on a HOF trajectory...I vastly underestimated his shaman-like ability to recognize great OL then avoid them.

Wait… are you suggesting that they didn’t value the importance of a TE until Kelsey?

So, the same. But Binnito is a better athlete and pass rusher and General Paton was able to get him 30+ picks later.

Not at all the same.

Karlaftis is not an undersized situational player like Bonnito.

There’s not a single person that thinks Bonnito is a better player than Karlaftis.

KnowMo, you ignored me last time, but since you love posting PFF stuff, care to tell us where they had all the Chiefs picks on their big board?

You guys got solid players who don't have the traits to become superstars. PFF values production over projection, which is why the #1 overall pick is ranked #12 or something on their big board.
