Yes he did sell himself way short back in 2020, after winning a Super Bowl and MVP the previous two seasons. Joe Burrow got $146 million for the first 3 years of his new deal. Mahomes got $65 million for the first 3 years of his new deal (2020 to 2022). Both guys still had 2 years left on their rookie deals. Mahomes sold himself short by at least $80 million.

Dak Prescott is blowing Mahomes out of the water for 2024 to 2027. Prescott’s contract is $231 million guaranteed for the first 4 years of a 5-year contract worth $260 million total. Mahomes got $210 million for 4 years from 2023 to 2026.
