Trump seems to be taking a victory lap for the success in Arizona. Have things really improved that much there?

California is having a technical glitch and their reporting of cases is well under reported.

Um, no. There is a big difference between a demonstration where people crowd into the rotunda of a state capital and stand shoulder pressed to shoulder without wearing masks as opposed to being outside and wearing masks. Preferably spread apart, but at least not crammed up against the same person for an extended length of time. I don't believe contact tracing hasn't shown much in the way of spread from outdoor protests or activity. To the extent outdoor protesters did spread the virus, it was probably mostly from those arrested and were crowded into police wagons and holding cells. So protesters of any stripe that stay outside, wear masks, don't shout/sing, and try to stay a little ways apart and avoid getting arrested, is probably ok. In the early days of the virus, shutting down trails and beaches may have been a reasonable and a conservative approach. But with what is now known, I don't think it is reasonable to keep them closed. As far as allowing protests but not other things, to the extent your 'dine in' is an outside seating area, and to the extent your wedding and/or funeral is entirely outside with a least a little bit of distancing, those are probably also reasonable. |

Sarcastic sneering sufficient - no evidence, facts or actual argument needed.
"These two things are the same!" "Well no actually they aren't, masks make a huge difference. As evidenced that no real outbreaks have been seen from the protests." "Lol I sneer at u!" To be realistic the anti-mask protests probably aren't that terrible either, by virtue of being outside - as long as you aren't screaming right in someone's face.
