Last week against the Chargers, Mahomes surpassed Len Dawson in franchise pass attempts with 3711
He needs 13 passing touchdowns to pass Dawson, and 16 wins to pass him in that stat as well |

I gotta say. I missed the deep ball. Mahomes just never had the same touch on it like some of the others, but that Worthy bomb was a thing of beauty. Perfect throw.

I think part of it is that him and MVS never developed chemistry deep (nor did MVS develop that with Rodgers). Mahomes just never seemed to know where to place it and I suspect MVS never really developed a feel for over the shoulder catches. Mahomes always seemed to try to rope it so MVS could turn and catch it.

It really speaks to his ball-tracking skills. He slowed up and STILL got exactly to where the ball was EXACTLY when he needed to be there. Remember that on deep shots like that, 90% of the 'accuracy' of the pass comes down to the WR tracking the ball. In all probability, Mahomes just hucked it up there and trusted Worthy to track it. And he did. And perfectly timed his pursuit. Because if you stay at full speed and then try to slow down late, you'll get yourself all turned around. But to slooooowly bleed speed and keep yourself between the ball and the defender so you can catch it over your shoulder like that. That's just perfect, man. Just absolutely perfect. That kid tracks balls like few dudes I've seen. It's just innate. I don't think for one second that he slowed down because he was tracking the ball and that slow-down just happened to put him in a perfect spot to catch the ball in stride. He did that on purpose. You can't ask for more than that from a downfield receiver. |

Did they throw a flag for DPI ? But like DJ said that looked like he adjusted perfectly to the ball which slowed him up a tick , great concentration after contact to catch that .

I thought Pat played well after a shaky start. I feel very fortunate though that Pimples was hobbled as he was barely functional by the 4th, but oh well. Last 2 games the Chargers offense was invisible the 2nd half with his injury. Harbaugh is a fool for playing him in Pitt as that rest might have been enough to beat us. Them the breaks!

I coach my 5th graders football team, we've got a really good group of WR's. We've thrown the ball alot since 3rd grade, no other team we play really throw the ball much as it's alot more difficult. But we've done it alot and we've got 3/4 kids who can really catch it.
But our best WR can really run. It's been hard for my son to figure out at QB that you can't wait to throw it to this kid, he outruns where you can throw it. I think some of that is Pat's problem. He seems to always wait a tick to long and then has to throw it a bit flatter. That one Sunday, he put up and out there and let him run. That's how you throw the deep ball. |
