Earl Thomas a longshot to be a Chief

They just said on ESPN we were on the list of teams that he could be dealt to.

Since when did being bad at one position prevent you from being bad at another?

We need corners. We need safeties. We need linebackers. We need linemen. The priority or trade targets or anyone else doesn't really matter. We need help everywhere. LOL at our laughing-stock D not needing corners. We could have prime Ed Reed and Ronnie Lott and we'd still need corners. And we could have prime Deion and we'd STILL need corners. Holy shit. What do you people watch on Sundays.

We're talking about trading picks here. Nobody said we don't need CB's. We said we don't need them bad enough to start giving away high picks.

The single biggest hole on this defense is deep safety. We could have fixed that with Earl Thomas.

Outside of that, there isn't a single solitary move that would make this appreciably better THIS YEAR. Patrick Peterson is going to be more expensive than Earl Thomas in terms of picks. It's not worth it because Patrick Peterson by himself isn't making that much of a difference if Eric Murray is still manning the deep middle.

Pete Carroll presser.

Did you see the gesture at the sideline?

Somebody said something about it. I don't know anything about it. It's a big stadium, I don't know where it was aimed at. Earl was extraordinarily poised on the field. For what had just occurred, to be so resolved, he knew what happened. He was so poised, giving back to the players and all of us. I don't know what happened after that.

Do you realize that this was exactly what he had feared in his holdout?

Yeah. That's why it's so bitter sweet. We had turned things around and everything was going in a positive direction. It breaks my heart that we're talking about this right now.

What a chode.

Every DE and S has the Chiefs as the top destination. The DEs do kind of intrigue me.

Makes sense, especially if they keep winning and winning.

If they look like a top 2 seed headed for playoff exit because of defensive weakness, Veach had better at least try some sort of move to help.

If they’re gonna let ford walk, I’d see if Houston would take a 2nd for Clowney

You’d have to extend him next year

Clowney maybe. You gotta have a guy that can win individual matchups because our back end can't cover well enough to have to blitz all the time.

I'd still rather they focus on safety over anything else right now.

Clowney would be awesome but the secondary would still be in trouble. Plus l, what would Clowney cost? Would have to be a ton.
