****OFFICIAL Kansas City Chiefs @ Los Angeles Chargers TNF Game Thread****

Everyone is talking about COVID-19 but have you heard of a DEADLY NEW DISEASE that originated in the GREAT STATE OF MISSOURI, WHERE MY FAVORITE FOOTBALL TEAM, THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS, ALSO PLAY?

We call this disease MAHOMESIASIS-15*

It is FATAL to ALL AFC West teams AND their fans outside Missouri.

Quote:
There have been eleven confirmed outbreaks of Mahomesiasis-15 around the country in the last several years, mostly in Los Angeles, Denver and Las Vegas. EACH TIME, this DEADLY NEW DISEASE kills approximately 70,000 people.

There were outbreaks in Oakland and San Diego and EVERYONE THERE DIED SO HARD those places are now UNINHABITABLE.

Even a slightly weaker strain of Mahomesias-15 devastated Mexico City.

PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES are at extremely HIGH RISK.

Symptoms: random burn marks, depression, shrinking of genitals, elevated estrogen levels.

WAIT WAIT I'M GETTING A REPORT FROM THE CENTERS FOR DEFENSE CONTROL!

OH MY GOD THERE'S AN OUTBREAK HAPPENING RIGHT NOW IN LOS ANGELES!

EVERYONE THERE IS GOING TO DIE!

*Please consult a doctor if your Mahomesiasis-15 lasts longer than this game thread.

I don't know if mentioned earlier in the thread, but the loudmouth stadium announcer and sound effects when the Chiefs have the ball seems like using technology to create a loud environment because there are not enough Charger fans at the game to do that.

I guess the NFL allows it, but it was weird that Mahomes had to cover his ear holes to hear the play call and the only noise was the loudmouth stadium announcer and the sound effects.

He had flashes of vintage Mahomes but he also had some pretty average stuff. What's incredible is that it didn't matter. I think he's definitely had a "down" year and in patches has genuinely played poorly. But it turns out his 70% is often enough. If you're right about his navigating space with the OTs then everyone is f***ed.

The Chiefs fans who attended the LV game thought the broadcast was artificially pumping up the pro-LV crowd noise when they saw it after the game. They said their just weren’t enough Raiders fans there to generate that noise.

Wild we now can have 5 division games a year with majority KC crowds.

My theory for a while is we’re seeing how valuable Schwartz’ hall of fame level of play (if not longevity) was combined with Fisher being a solid LT for Patrick. He seemed to learn their and adapt to their styles almost instantly and could rely on them to be consistent (if not dominant) in their styles of play.

Patrick’s shakiest games often came when Fish was out or Fish ran into a dominant bull rusher (something he struggled with his whole career). It’s where we saw Patrick start to struggle to weave from the pocket and tipped passes off the line.

Yesterday it was amazing to see Patrick start to weave under his tackles (rather than over) and do so with regularity when the game is on the line. Not having a consistent RT I’m sure hurt in that capacity as well this year. But if Patrick is starting to get comfortable with his tackles (radically different) style of play - look out everybody!

Great observation. The Galloping Ghost. Such an apt description for that running style.

CEH should not have been picked in the 1st round but he's still an okay back. You just need to let that go. I don't think Gore would have done any better. I'm with DJ on this, the line did not block worth a crap in the running game all night.

That game was fun as hell to watch, partially because the refs didn't throw a flag every other play.
Prepare yourself for future games.

They're going to flag Orlando Brown for offsides on the regular when the Chiefs get a tighter crew.

Even Thuney and Humphrey got beat. Their DL was balling. That is a really good football team. The team we root for is just better.

It sure looked like Orlando was moving early on many plays.
