I put exactly 1k miles on her last year. Really glad I bought that tune at the end of last summer. Seemed to do more than I thought for the car. Insurance just came due and $249 for a year is such a bargain.

Finally got to take her out on a nice drive after a month of sitting due to being so busy this last month.

$249 a year? Is it in grandma's mane or a vehicle with no assigned driver?

Good looking ride, for a Ford.

It’s a seldom driven car and it qualifies for “classic” car insurance through Grundy. No mileage limiting on driving though. Just have to prove it’s not your daily driver and set it’s estimated value.

Took me forever to get it. The SLS part was too easy...soft top gave it away. not being two toned on the steering wheel was how I got the year.

hmm classic? I have my 240Z's insured through Hagargy same set up.

Does my 2004 SLK qualify? I'd love to get that off my main policy. Same coverage as your daily with set max value?

I had a claim through Hagarty, Total loss. They were straight up, have been there for 15 years maybe longer

I think it would. You should call them.

"Classic" is a loose term as they explained. Just really has to be a seldom driven car that you put a total value on. Have to prove you have other daily drivers that you use. I put a total value of the car at $18k with the modifications it has and low miles (29k). Yearly fee determined by replacement part costs and such. Ford is pretty cheap there which helps.

Coverage of 100k bodily injury, 40k uninsured motorist, $500 deductible for parts.

You need to read your policy and make sure it doesn't say this: dated 9-17

No Mileage Limitations: You can use your vehicle in collector activities, exhibits and parades without any mileage restrictions.

Mine (my Haggerty policies) give me the same coverage as my primary car and had to show coverages (fax declaration sheet). I assume you did the same? They gave me an option to reduce the liability, which i did not do, because I carry very high limits. there were no options, what I covered my primary car with is what they insured them for. My mileage is not unlimited but is instead Not a daily driver or commuting vehicle... There are no mileage numbers listed. I read that on newer cars they max at 2500 miles.

So you have a 100k/300k/100k with 40K uninsured bodily injury? $500 parts deductible. How is that considered a parts deductible? Mine is comprehensive and covers anything even caustic bird poop. (I had a go round with Farmers 30 years ago over this.) Is that the same coverage as your DD or where you able to pick deductible and liability limits?

I was looking at their website and it said to be on "collector" policy it has to be over 25 years old. So, I guess they are increasing their base by underwriting/ insuring "classic" cars. I see where they will write policies on new cars under another (MVP) program.

I just went and got my Haggerty bill and there was a notation on the second page that they will accept "select" newer "classic" vehicles and noted that even if my 2005 wasn't a super car, it was accepted and to call for a quote. So I guess they are all doing that now.

Thanks for the heads up on Classic Insurance. I probably would have missed it again next year if you didn't mention it. I'm not changing co's as I like where I am and like I said I had a $20K claim and they were straight forward and fast. They also didn't raise my rate when I replaced it on the policy or renewed other cars.

There is a funny letter posted on one of my car sites where Grundy turned down a customer for listing on his application a 2010 Trek bicycle, along with another car, and because they couldn't confirm insurance on it they denied him coverage...

Check out Billet Specialties Street Lites. Very affordable and would look much more modern on your car.

As much as I'd love to, that's not happening right now. Got a formula sucker and diaper wetter in the house.

Funny thing is that I mentioned changing the wheels to my FIL last year. He couldn't believe why I'd do that. He likes to tell this story. When he bought the car new in 2005 he wanted some nice chrome wheels. He was looking for the ones on the car but was having trouble locating them, American Racing is the brand. He had to special order them from Florida and they were one of the "last" sets available anywhere in the US. He paid $2500 for them back in 2005 but he would have spent more because they are solid and great looking wheels.

He's also turning 72 this year and I think the look reminds him of his younger days. He also had a huge, fluffy steering wheel cover on the car at all times.

Im reading that as the denied him coverage because they missed the sebring and wouldn't accept a bicycle as his daily transportation. So in their minds the viper had to be.

Where do you get they denied him coverage due to not insuring the bike?
