Royals acquired international bonus money from the Rangers. I wonder if this is for the current signing period or next year? It would seem to make zero sense to acquire it for this year considering we probably are nowhere close to the maximum, we hardly signed anyone worthwhile in IFA, and most of the top prospects have already signed elsewhere. |

Both of the Mesas are in limbo still, and that money is spendable from now until the next period. Maybe they’re waiting to spend on one of them or expect another player from Cuba/etc to hit he market over the winter. They handed out a few medium-sized bonuses and also have to count the 750k they spent on del Rosario and Juan Carlos Negret against this period. |

I wonder when it gets to the point that position players are being overused to pitch. Everyone is doing it. The Phillies are on their 2nd position player of the day right now, getting beat 23-4. Granted it's the first game of a doubleheader.
Scott Kingery is pitching for the Phillies right now and he's literally lobbing it at home plate. He's literally throwing so slow it's not registering on the radar gun. This is kind of embarrassing. |

I bet you're going to have someone bring up a conversation about having a 10 run or 20 run rule, or some kind of mercy rule, in MLB after that. He was lobbing 30 or 40 mph softballs up there.
